Showing pictures requires energy! The painting process is such a powerful draw that it is tough to set priorities not involving picture making. So planning to show some work requires an extra effort, I think. (My work space clutter will attest to the fact that I'd rather move paint than other stuff; it is easy to see to my path of least resistance!) Well, actually getting some paintings out of my work room is a significant component of this "plan". More room for the coffee cups.
And a budget for framing, if necessary, entry/exhibit fees, marketing materials, is part of the "get the work seen" effort so I've found some time was required to look into those things.
So that about does it......that's where I was and the result is:
four pictures completed during the last several years are going to be displayed with works of other local artists at art centers and galleries in Shelburne Falls, Easthampton and Turners Falls, Massachusetts this month and into March.
It's great to participate and be included in these exhibits, each of which is organized around a broad theme and curated with a commitment to promote art!
