Continuing
36" x 36" Acrylic on canvas |
The work here is with the balance and weight of it, I think. Color choices will contribute to the solution. I think I can find an asymmetrical cadence to keep the eye moving.
Next move may be for some deeper points here and there and maybe some wider marks in the upper right or off the center.

Further focus on this
The areas I've circled I plan to rework with the background ultramarine mix I've been using.
Still think it's too busy.
These strike me as archetype shapes/images coming from a primitive mind. Almost a view into ancient efforts to sort out the entropy of early existence and awareness. Discovery meets painter.

Portrait
Don't think I have posted this before. Maybe two years old or so. I actually might have painted over it.

Slowly evolving
Finding rhythm and balance can be difficult when you are on an exploration into new territory. Making space for the shapes, which are really evolving by natural selection as maybe Darwin would say, is my current challenge and maybe preoccupation. Trying to relax my focus is challenging too. Can you tell that I was reading Dr. Seuss to two year old Clare over the past weekend?
